edition blu ray equivalent to the edition ultimate dvd, with high quality blu ray. the price is more than reasonable. perfect to update its filmothequeThe illusions induced by the bias are as old as the human mind, and never will be, enough peeled and denounced. This film is as convincingly as sober. The counting of the decor and the old fashioned "black and white", far from giving him wrinkles, are at the service of its timelessness and thus its persuasive power. If the story of the Wizard of Oz remains a timeless, one cannot say as much of the film that has far too aged to stay pleasant to look at. The audio quality is rather poor which doesn't help. The cult Film that we never get tired of watching. BR imperfect but we forget as we watch a movie where the good mood on a subject so grave is the first thing that you choose. A movie that is timeless that it is necessary to have at homeThat means beautiful and fairy-like. There should be more tales of christmas. It makes us dream. Synopsis : just installed in the West, Stoddard is a young lawyer, is taken to advantage by Liberty Valance, a bandit. He is rescued by Tom, the only one that Valance does not fear... A director of the caliber of a John Ford did not undertake a film about a fleeting desire. The subject is weighed, weighed, and it comes from reading, as Ford reads a lot, news, scenarios, everything that is present and may become a movie. When it falls on the story of Dorothy Mae Johnson as he offers his faithful screenwriter James Warner Bellah, he plans to turn this story "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance ". We are in 1962, and Ford, who is 68 years old, is already very lessened by the drink. Of irish origin, he had inherited the qualities as a loyal friend and fierce defender of cinema, but also defects, large-mouthed, short-tempered, and an alcoholic. Funding for the film, despite the notoriety of the Ford, was not easy to obtain. He put all his weight into the balance to give the Major Production, which bowed at the end of several months of debate.Cheap Zatarain's Cayenne Pepper 7.25 Oz 2:
For obscure reasons, poorly defined up to this day, he runs in black and white, presumably for cost-saving reasons, since Paramount had opened the purse strings with a lot of reluctance. Anyway, this western will be his masterpiece, a title he will share with a few of his other movies that have marked the history of the american cinema, and especially of the western. Each film is a "unique piece" John Ford is going to use his experience and, let's not be afraid of words, of its engineering achievement to put in pictures the best movie possible. For this one, he will use and abuse the flash-back to back, consistently, to the origin of the current action. I admit that this western is one of the five best, to my taste, that I have ever seen. Some westerns I like for reasons that I can manage to define, but for this "The man who shot Liberty Valance" everything suits me in its entirety. Filled with nostalgia and a carrier of symbolic values of the american nation, dear to all the inhabitants of this vast country, the film had all the chances to please and win, that is what happened. As regards the actors, the death of his friend Ward Bond, before the shooting, affect Ford.Best Buy Zatarain's Cayenne Pepper 7.25 Oz 2:
He then made a call to Lee Marvin, an actor who starts at the age of 38, to be known, but which, hitherto, has not yet got the big role and the success undisputed, that every actor hopes for. This will be done with the character of Liberty Valance, he was offered by John Ford. The character fits him like a glove, it's going to fine-tune for the dreaded sadistic feared by all, except for Tom Doniphon (John Wayne) dreadful shooter. Tom ignores Liberty and liberty avoids Tom, so there's no clash. In this western there is a third robber, the lawyer, Ransom Stoddard, and this will be one of the few times where John Wayne will leave the spotlight to another actor. This actor lanky and already crowned with countless success, it is James Stewart who takes on the suit of justice, with a lot of humility. Vera Miles is going to be between two men who woo, Tom fort and Ransom the weak when, as is often the case, the woman chooses the weak because he needs her. The complicity of John Wayne and John Ford is obvious, but no one knows yet, they are spinning their last film together. This western is entirely filmed in a studio whose decorations are a part of the city where is located the shares, which are restricted mainly between the restaurant, its dining room and its kitchen, passing by the street and the offices of the local newspaper. On Sale Zatarain's Cayenne Pepper 7.25 Oz 2:
A film on the law and the values which fight against anarchy and brute force, and the rise of the power of the press as it is often attempted to muzzle but who triumph in spite of everything. Film that highlights the end of the wild West pioneers, the end of the brutal force that imposes its law. This time the page turns for the benefit of the act of the lawyers. Conclusion : history has already repeatedly been commented on so I would stick to the "sides" that have them-also, of great importance if one wants to understand a work in its entirety. "The man who shot Liberty Valance" is a western full, who has all the qualities that one expects from a masterpiece. The film seems to be very short, which is a good sign for a film a little over two hours. A DVD essential.. A delightful film, served by a mise en scene inspired, the actors will give heart to joy, it gives you a comedy pleasant.Zatarain's Cayenne Pepper 7.25 Oz 2 Reviews:
One of the previous comments spoke of the cleanliness of the master, which I remind you has not undergone any restoration (principle of the collection Gaumont) ; I agree but it is a pity that the stability of the image is challenged on two sequences.. A film key in a good film library. It is not easy to make people laugh with a topic as serious as barely 20 years after the end of the war. All the actors risk their lives in this movie and manage to make us forget this fact : incredible, no? We have laughed at any age in front of this masterpiece of the cinema, even if Louis de Funès is still locked up in his role of grumpy... Bourvil remains one of the greatest actors because he knows how to do everything : make us cry or make us laugh to tears.. Decent image quality and good sound. Very good film masterfully played by Robert Redford and Mia Farrow. Everyone must have seen this excellent film, because it is a classic film not to miss under any circumstances.. A cult film that I recommend to all of you for the long winter evenings as it is a bit long... see and review.. a beautiful story, well tell, run by a very good director and very good story, and a very good actor.
